Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????
Which one did they make a movie about?
I finished My Sister's Keeper - it is very well written, but very sad.
Now I'm reading "Lucky" by Alice Sebold. I liked Lovely Bones, so I figured I'd try this one.

There are a lot of good ones you guys posted I would want to read. I heard the Sedaris books are funny, so I want to check those out. I really want to read the Devil Wears Prada and The Five People you Meet in Heaven.

I just finished reading Everything's Eventual by Stephen King, it's a collection of short stories...some good ones and some bad ones, but worth giving a try.

I just finished "Devil wears Prada" and I admit it was MUCH better then I thought, I loved it...just got into The nanny diaries and up next is "The Pact"
The Pact is one of my favorites and one of the most haunting books I've ever read. I love Jody Picoult and I've been trying to get my hands on all her books. I just finished My Sister's Keeper (awesome) and Songs of the Humpback Whale (good, but not as good The Pact or Sister's Keeper).
Nanny Diaries was good too. Now I'm reading In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner.
lorsin- I just finished the Pact finally and ya know I dont know if I loved it or hated it...but it was very very haunting, I could not stop thinking about it and felt very weird afterwards...that must say something...I just felt like I didnt understand Emily's charecter enough...but WOW, it was different and Im glad I read it!

It definitely affects you!! I'm glad you read it. What's next on your list? I finished In Her Shoes (good, but a little choppy) and moved on to "Can you Keep A Secret" by Sophie Kinsella. I really like it so far.

Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????
I finished Lucky - it was quite moving and interesting to read about Alice Sebold's life.
Now I'm reading "Can You Keep a Secret" it reminds me of Trading Up and Devil Wears Prada type of books - a great read for the summer!

I didnt read bookends but I read Mr. Maybe and thought it was great...and Jenimma J was my first book from her...again well worth it...they are nice fast reads...I was gonna buy "Babyville" by her today but I'm gonna see if the library has it first...I need to stop reading so much..he he he....
eta" I just read "The Soloman Sisters wise up"...cant remember who wrote it but I read it in one day, it was very good! ( stupid title but very funny and intelligent for a womans type of book)

Was lovely bones sad? I want to read this but I get too emotionally involved sometimes...lol

Lovely Bones has parts that are kind of heart-wrenching, but it wasn't too "fetal-position-on-the-couch-crying-openly-while-listening-to-Sarah-McLaughlin".

Re: What's on your nightstand right now?????
Lovely Bones is a sad concept, but it gives you a nice of idea of heaven and an after life.
Can you Keep a Secret was good - I read it very quickly.
Now I'm reading To Have and To Hold - its very good too. My first Jane Green book, I'll definitely get more after this!

I am now reading The Photograph by Penelope Lively, its very slow going, I'll let you know how it is when I finish it. So far (I'm 1/2 way through) I wouldn't recommend it.
