Ivory dress - white veil?

My dress is ivory, but actually closer to Diamond White. I bought a white veil that I haven't tried on with the dress yet....should I be anticipating that they are not going to match?

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

This isn't much of an answer but I'm leaning towards sayign that it simply depends on a couple things...how long is the veil and exactly how 'off' are the two colors? It might possible not be noticable at all. Is there any way to get a decent sized swatch of your dress or compare the two colors at the bridal salon...maybe they have another dress in the color that you ordered in stock for you to just compare?

Actually, my dress is already in, and I've started to go for fittings....but I forgot to bring my veil with me....and since the wedding is so close I want to make sure I have time to replace the veil if they don't match....

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

I would say the only way to really tell is to try them on together. Do they have Ivory veils?
I went and got my veil this weekend and I don't recall seeing that. But either way I am sure you'll look great

good luck!!! I hope it all works out

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

I agree you are going to have to try them together and hope for the best. I had an ivory dres that wasn't deep ivory - looked kind of white - so when I went to buy a veil I almost bought diamond white instead of ivory because ivory veils seemed so dark. Wound up the veil lady gave me swatches before I purchased it and sure enough I need ivory.

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

Your salon should match them...... even if the ivory is close to diamond white, it may not match well enough. Also, how long is your veil? Especially if it is c athedral length, you should try to match it, but if it is shorter, it may be OK.

Try to see if the bridal shop will allow you to try on the sample again with the veil.

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

My veil is fairly short....three tiers, with the longest at about elbow length.

I am really hoping I can just keep the veil I bought.

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

Hi,
My dress is light ivory and honestly the white veil showed a difference...unless there is an antique white it shouldnt be that off but if it is the classic white it does show. Bu wait and see what kind of white veil it is before you panic.

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

If your dress is D.whitew you must have the same color veil it will show up outside in natural light and in your pictures it is very very inportant that it is the same color.

Re: Ivory dress - white veil?

I bought a diamond white veil because I ordered my dress in diamond white. The dress came in and it was white (they are trying to get a replacement). I tried it on with my accessories anyway, and there was definitely a difference - it did not look right with the dress.
