Locations for Pics in Centerport/Northport area

We have a huge gap in between our wedding and reception, and while we plan on taking pics at our reception location, we cannot get there until 1.5 hours prior to the cocktail hour..

Any suggestion on nice places to go to take pics in the Centerport/Northport area? (I'm not from LI so I have NO idea!)

Of course its going to be a beautiful day so I'm not even thinking about rain!

If you can afford (I think its like $200 but I am really not sure) it do the vanderbuilt mansion! its amazing there is no where else you will get pics like that IMO! both of my BILs had their pics there and I am so jealous b/c it would be soooooo out of the way for us!

Definitely the park in Northport Village ... we are having our ceremony there at the Gazebo.

We also had our engagement pictures taken there.

We are going to take our casual day pics (e-pics) in the Village of Northport. There are parks and docks there that are beautiful!

Felicia I can tell you prices because we already booked. It is 200 and then 50 for each additional site. The 200 is for the courtyard and then they have additional areas like the boxwood garden, etc. If you go up to 300 for pics, then you can take pics inside if it rains. It's worth the extra 100 for me(in case it is bad weather) I think the woman's name is Carol and her number is 631-854-5568

just so you know they are doing construction on the docks in Northport. I went there the other day to take somepictures of the harbour and I could not get onto the docks. You should find out when it will be done.

teach2be, I am getting my pictures taken there too but they didn't tell me anything about the 300 dollars and then you can take your pictures inside if it rains. Can you tell me wher you heard that, i din't see anything in the contract about that

there are tons of beaches in the area - one is on the same road as the vanderbilt mansion.

also on Clay Pitts Road I've seen bridal partys having their picture taken at an old age home. It has a pond and is very pretty (its not to far from your church)

If you are taking pics within the grounds of vanderbilt mansion, there is a site fee for that. This information I got from that woman Carol that I mentioned above. Nothing there is free !!! Maybe you are doing something differently than I am. My contract lists the exact spots where I will be taking pictures as you do not have free reign over the grounds.

ETA: make sure that we are talking about the same vanderbilt mansion(this is eagle's nest in centerport) down that long windy road.

HUH, really.......can you tell me more. What was the cost? Do you have a priest performing? What if it rains?

It is $100 to reserve the gazebo. I believe the work on the docks ... well, I don't remember - FH called the number on the construction signs & I just don' recall, except that it will be before our wedding.

FH's uncle is being ordained over the internet and will be performing our ceremony.

In case of rain, we will have a walled tent on our front lawn.

Our three dogs are part of our ceremony so we did not have tons of options on location ...

Yes thats were i'm getting my pictures taken I am paying a 200 fee and then an additional 50 dollars per additional site. And my contract says if it rains you can use the inside room, I was asking about the 300 dollars you said you have to pay if it rains?

You are also very close to Huntington Village, Heckser(sp?) Park, Coindre Hall is really close (I have know Idea if you have to pay)

my only suggestion is that if you are using the park in northport, watch out for all of the goose poop. silly but the geese in northport are excessive and their leftovers are everywhere. also, our lady queen of martyrs is in centerport and that church has some amazing views, however, the bridge in centerport is being fixed and should be done by the time our weddings come up. i'm a thatched bride, too, and i'm from northport.
