ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

I jinxed myself. Someone asked a week or so ago what our wedding anxieties are, and I said I was afraid I'd have my period on the wedding day. Guess what? It looks like that's exactly what's going to happen! I've been keeping track of my 'schedule' so I can figure out when I'm supposed to get it... it's due on my wedding day.

Mine are very painful, and I break out in zits right before them. I'm so MAD! Any way, other than going on the pill, to change your cycle?

But she did say to start it at least two months ahead to make sure!! hope that helps!!

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

That's what I did just a few months ago for a trip we took... it's pretty harmless, you don't go through any pms really, and you don't get your period at all... the pill is a miracle!

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

I don't know of any way other than being on the pill and adjusting them. Sorry. I am fearing the same thing, mine is due on my wedding day as well, I am on the pill but I always break through, unfortunately. *sigh*

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

About 6 months before my wedding, I had a gynocologist appointment and he asked me which day I was getting married, then took out a calendar and did some calculations. He figured that I would get my period over my HM so he gave me a schedule on which months I should skip my period (using the pill). It was funny because at the time, I wasn't thinking about that at all. But he said that I can't get my period during my HM because that would be no fun. Needless to say, I followed his advice and got my period after I returned home from my HM.

If you can, talk to your doctor and see what he/she has to say.

there is a natural herb called black and also red cohosh that brings on your period you could try to 'force it ' to come early.

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

I just looked in your profile and you have planty of time to fix the situtation. As the others said, just calculate everthing and skip the last 'row' of pills to move things around. I had to do it twice to make sure I don't get my period untill after I came back from honeymoon.

It's absolutelly safe to do and doesn't harm you or your chances of having kids in any way! Go for it! Good luck!

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

OK, the stress can do it, also a really tough workout regime can change it over the course of two or three months.

YIKES! I missed mine by 3 days & it came 2 weeks early!!!!!!

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

They have shots. Kind of like the pill, but you only take a shot once every 3 months, and that's how often you get your period. Only problem with them is it can take up to a year to get it out of your system when trying to conceive. If you want kids right away, don't do the shots. But my MOH has been on them for 7 years, since she had her son. She is just going off them now, because in around a year or so, they will try for a second child, but she loved these things! Ask your doctor if there are other alternatives for you.

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

Thanks! I used to be on the pill and loved it (made the cramps soooo much less painful), but because of a medical condition of mine, I'm not supposed to go on the pill now.

i don't know about the herbs, but i know you can 'force' or 'delay' by changing your diet and adjusting your fat and salt intakes.

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

I say go c ur GYN ASAP. you still have enuff time to get on the pill, to skip it that month. Stress can delay it, but then what if ur soo relaxed on ur HM and u get it?

Re: ARGH! Wedding nightmare come true

Get on the pill NOW!!!
You need to figure out how you will ract to them and you may gain 2-3 pounds. As far as I know - this is the only way to prevent it.

It's well worth it. Also - I think Yasmin is supposed to be one of the few pills that does not cause weight gain. My Gyno won't give it to me for some reason but maybe it is ok for you - esp short term.
