More Shower invite Drama, POLL!
Ok some of you may remember my post about not inviting any out of town guest (even family) cause it would look as if I was asking for a gift. Well what about the people in like Jersey and CT.

You know my opinion on the Florida people
but I would absolutely invite Ct and NJ - that certainly does not seem out of bounds or that you are fishing for a gift - many may come!

I did invite my aunt in Tx because she told my mom although she couldn't come she wanted to send a gift - Otherwise we invited people from Conn and NJ becuase they hinted or told my mother they would be upset to NOT be invited.I would only invite people who are within driving distance unless you KNOW they are a close family member who would be upset NOT to be invited

I don't remember the original post (
) but I think that you should invite who you would like there regardless of where they lived. They may surprise you. They will only send a gift if they want to. I would rather someone tell me 'no, it's too far' then for them to think I didn't want them there by not inviting them.
ETA: Last thursday I just recieved an invitation to my cousins baby shower in California for 2/28. Of course I can't go on such short notice, but I thought it was nice of them to invite me

I think NJ and CT are close enough to invite. But what I don't understand is that a shower is for the sole purpose of getting gifts, so how would inviting people who live OOT be any different than inviting people who live more locally? Either way, it's still asking for gifts - the local people might just feel more compelled to show up and give one!

TRUE..
But see I know that the people in Florida wouldnt come to my shower and my wedding They would only come to the wedding so I was going to invite them so that they didnt feel left out NOT FOR THEM TO SEND ME A GIFT. But my mother said that by me sending them an invite it would look like I know u cant come but send me a gift.
