Quick Bridemaid Dresses

My wedding is less than 4 months away and we still don't have bridesmaid dresses. When we went to look, the salesgirl told us that we would have to pay for a 'rush' shipment. Does anyone have any ideas where we can get dresses earlier without paying this extra fee?

Unfortunately, I think they're all going to say that. Personally, this whole business is a SCAM! LOL

If you can find something off the rack, then you wouldn't have to deal with this. Otherwise, if you go to a salon, I think they're all going to scare you with the 'it won't be here in time' speech and that you 'must' pay for the rush.

Go to David's Bridal!
Their primary business is off the rack.
As a matter of fact, I ordered the girls dresses on November 2nd and they were in (brand new ones in their proper sizes at a discounted rate no less!) before I even put up my Christmas tree.

Go to Lord and Taylor, Ann Taylor or Estelles. They have beautiful dresses that would be appropriate and no RUSH charge!

Would you be able to buy the dresses off the rack? Alterations can be done by any tailor. Most dry cleaners have a tailor on sight and while your at it, they can steam them for you!!

David's bridal. My BM dresses were supposed to take 6 weeks (orders only, not available off the rack), and were ordered Dec. 7th. They came in on Dec. 24th!

I was just at RK Bridal in Manhattan- they are great, and have a huge selection and cost much less than other places. Anyway, they have posted that if you order from certain designers, there is no rush fee until 5 weeks before. Specifically, I remember that Jim Hjelm, who has great designs, has that- I remember b/c I really liked one of his dresses, but there were others. Anyway, my wedding is June 5, we are ordering New Image dresses and they are not charging rush fees.

I know somebody suggested it, but Davids Bridal. It takes 6 weeks if they do need to be ordered.

You can try going to estelle's they have alot of dresses there in many colors and you can get the dresses that day you go there to try them on.

Try Here Comes the Bridesmaid in Great Neck. I got my bm dresses there. I worked with Irene. She is PHENOMENAL. I know if it's possible, she WILL do it for you. She is a great person to deal with and extremely helpful!
