The kid won't let me put her DOWN!

I am really hoping somebody has this problem...

Sophie is great - sleeps great, is eating, etc. She seems very content in general....to be in MOMMYS ARMS! She sleeps during the day only in my arms. The SECOND I put her in her stroller or bassinet..anywhere laying down she just freaks out. Even when she is totally conked out. She slept in the swing like twice and now I am seeing her turn against that as well.

My back is killing me! Any advice?

I used the baby bjorn all the time. It was a lifesaver. Do you have one or anything like that?

Re: The kid won't let me put her DOWN!

Aw! I didn't have that problem with Gianna until recently because Nanny walks around with her in her arms ALL day long!! Mind you, the woman is 86 and Gianna isn't light!!! This from the woman who told me when we came home from the hospital 'don't let her get used to the arms'!!

There is no way I can possibly walk around with her attached to my hip all day, so I've been bad and put her in her bouncy and let her cry for a bit. Not long, only a bit -- it breaks my heart, but hello, I need to go to the bathroom, etc.! She'll stop and get distracted looking at something else or start babbling away at something!!!

I know I wasn't any help! Sorry!

Briana likes to sleep and relax in her boppy pillow. My mom is even complaining that everytime she calls, I tell her that Briana is sleeping in her pllow. Try it.

Jenny, I hope it's just a phase for you, but I agree with the others, the Bjorn (or a sling) is a lifesaver. Lyla still needs to be held and carried a lot. She's almost 17 lbs, but we still wear her a lot. I cooked dinner with her in the Bjorn last night, and I always take it with me when I go out, just in case. The first couple of months she hated the stroller, but she's doing better in it now.

My Mom used this phrase on me too, when Paul was little. Perhaps it's an Italian thing?

You do have to be careful not to condition the baby to be held ALL the time...but, since Sophia is still so little, I think that it's okay...she just needs to feel Mommy's closeness. Try the Bjorn! I feel for you - one of my best friends is going through the same thing now with her daughter, except that she is 4 mos. older than Sophia.

Good luck!
