Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

They sell a kit to die them black, or you can bring them to any store that dyes. I brought a pair to Casa de Mario in Patchogue, and it cost 20 to have them died

I heard that when you dye shoes, they will run.

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I actually had two pairs - so far I've dyed one pair - I'll probably pass on the other pair - they weren't comfy at all

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

You can have them dyed at Sandy's shoes on Sunrise Hwy in Massapequa. One of My BM had her white wedding shoes dyed there and they came out nice.

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I did! I had them done at Dying for You on Steinway Street in Astoria. I had ivory high heeled strappy sandals (they were white shoes that had been dyed ivory) with beading and had them dyed black. The dyed the beads and all.

As far as running- they do run if you get them wet. I tested them the first time by wearing them around the house and I dripped some water on my feet while washing dishes and my feet were black. Thank goodness I did this before I wore them out to another formal event - because it did rain that day I wanted to wear them. After that I did wear them to 2 weddings and my feet came home fine (or minor blackness on the soles of my feet - maybe from sweating - since one was a August wedding).

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I loved my shoes, they were so comfortable and expensive so I wanted to be sure I wore them again. I dyed them black and just wore them to a wedding were I was the MOH and the dresses were black. I also have another wedding the beginning of Feb. and will be wearing them again. I am so happy I am getting use out of them! I have heard that the dye runs. I personally have not experienced that as it was not raining when I wore them. But I will keep it in mind.

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I am in a bridal party this year and the color of our dresser are navy blue so if my shoes are not too dirty then I plan on dying them to navy blue and then to black. I plan on getting as much use out of them as I can.

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I had mine dyed black as well. Yabbo - mine had beads and the beads came out like a light gray/silvery color, not as balck as the rest of the shoes.

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

I didn't have mine done yet but I will. My place dyes them free b/c I bought them there. I think anyplace that dyes shoes will dye them for you, I just don't know how much it would be. As for them running. Yes they do. I've have other shoes from bridal parties dyed black after they were dyed another color. 98% of the time they leave a black mark accross your pantyhose (not sure what would happen without stockings though

Re: your wedding shoes...quick question..

My shoe store did this for me after the wedding - I've wore them once so far and they bled a bit on my skin but not too bad.

They were still comfy but a bit stiffer after the dye.
