More gown shopping woes...doubts...MOH & Mom don't like it
So I went to show my mom the gown I like most yesterday. I've tried on around 40 gowns already and this one is closest to be 'the one'. I'm having such a hard time with this so I was really hoping that Mom & MOH would see it, just gasp, and say 'That's it!' but they didn't. Mom couldn't get past the fact that the gown wasn't white (I'm getting it in white but the sample is Ivory) and MOH thought it looked 'too antique-y'.I mean they both said it was 'beautiful'... through gritted teeth. So I know they don't really like it. I asked them to be specific why and Mom said she pictured me in something 'more modern'. MOH agrees. But I like it. The gown has everything I ever wanted in a gown, and goes perfectly with my theme and reception site, but all their hemming and hawing has me seriously doubting the dress!!
I've been searching for my gown for 3 months now and I want to find my dress already!! I explained the situation to FH (without too many dress details of course) and he says I should keep shopping until I prove to myself and feel secure that this is the ONE. But I feel like I'll be shopping forever. I'm running out of time... what do I do??
Oh, I suppose I should include a picture of the dress.... (remember -- all white)

if you think this is THE ONE then buy it.I don't understand why mothers sit there and ruin the whole dress trying on thing by telling their daughters they hate the dress their daughters like. Are they going to wear the dress? I just don't get it and I hope she comes around soon

you are the one who has to like it. my MOH did not agree with me choosing an ivory gown, whereas my mom agree ivory looks best on me. MOH commented she did not like dress, mom loves it.Not everyone has the same taste. you are wearing it, taking lasting pictures and have a vision of the style wedding you want.
go with your style!!

Whos the one getting married? YOU are, and you have to pick the dress that makes you happiest. If you like the dress and you think it's the one go for it. I agree with the other ladies: everyone has different opinions.
