PCOS girls-going off the pill

I just stopped taking bcp after more than 10 years to control my PCOS and I'm afraid of what's going to happen to me. I'm concerned that my old problems like really bad acne, weird body hair, etc. will return. Anyone out there with PCOS who stopped bcp and didn't revert back to their old self?
I'm really nervous about this...

Re: PCOS girls-going off the pill

I did mostly return to my former self, but not completely. The PCOS symptoms were bearable. (Although before I went on BC I didn't know I had PCOS... I just was aware of the symptoms but didn't know they had a reason) Unfortunately, since the birth of Nicolas, I have completely reverted. I CAN'T WAIT to get back on BC.

Thanks Jennrenee! I knew I could count on you for an answer!
Ugh....now I'm really scared! My acne was horrendous and my skin has looked better now than it ever has.
How soon will it be before you can go back on bcp?

No problem Leelee!! It's worth the trouble, believe me. I can't wait for your happy news!

As for BC, I have to wait for good ol' AF. And considering how horrendous my skin looks, it could be a while...

Re: PCOS girls-going off the pill

You're the best! You'll be one of the first to know-I promise! Hopefully, it'll be sooner than later! Did your skin clear up while you were pregnant? I've heard some women say that being on the pill is like being pregnant-although I'm not sure how that can be!
I'm certain you look beautiful but I'm sending you clear skin dust! heehee!!

Re: PCOS girls-going off the pill

My skin was awful during pregnancy. Almost everyone I know had clear, beautiful skin while pregnant, but not me!

Thanks for the clear skin dust... I need it!!
