So lets face it, everyone now has a cell phone with them at all times. It's not that people are rude, just that we wear them like a watch and forget that they are there till they go off.
My ceremonies always start with a quick request that everyone silence their phone. Now those phones all have cameras. Fabulous! The photo sharing on Facebook is awesome! I LOVE it!
However there is a time and place for everything and the entrances and exits are a tough one. Of course everyone wants a shot of the Bride walking down the aisle, but that is the photographers job.
Here is something new that one of my brides had me add to the preamble after seeing a sea of arms and cell phones in her sisters professional pictures: 'While they love you all dearly, and are as excited to have you all here with them as they know you are to be here, our Bride and Groom have asked if those of you on the aisle could please refrain from reaching into the aisle to take pictures during the ceremony.'
It was either that or give them something to do with their hands!
Another thing to consider is if you have any say in the matter, setting the aisle as wide as possible makes this better too.
